According to the State Fire Marshal, a man who was wanted in connection with a Eunice arson has turned himself in. Daundric Johnson turned himself in to St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s deputies. He was booked and posted bond, then was released.
Johnson is accused of setting fire to his former girlfriend’s house a couple of weeks ago.
The Fire Marshal was called in by the Eunice Fire Department after they were called to a rental house on College Road. Investigators determined that the fire had been set in two place.
The female tenant who was renting the house reported that she had recently broken up with her boyfriend and told him to come get his things from her place. She was not home at the time of the fire, but two witnesses reported seeing someone around the home just before the fire.
Area surveillance video confirmed the witness accounts and led investigators to identify the tenant’s ex-boyfriend as the suspect.
