LPSO Seizes $850,000 In Narcotics

The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office has reported that detective uncovered a large number of illegal narcotics while investigating a shooting in the 300 block of Rue September in Scott.

The victim of the shooting, Jermaine Savoy, was in possession of the narcotics at the time of the shooting.

According to LPSO, the drugs were valued at over $850,000. They also recovered $3,615 in U.S. currency from the scene.

Savoy was arrested and booked on charges of:
– Possession with Intent to Distribute MDMA, Synthetic Marijuana, Crack Cocaine and Promethazine/Codeine
– Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
– Monies Derived from Drug Proceeds
– Illegal Carry of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
– Illegal Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances
– Controlled Dangerous Substances in the Presence of a Juvenile
