Strange Louisiana Laws
Strange Louisiana Laws
Every state has laws that are outdated. Sometimes we can understand what lawmakers were thinking when the laws were enacted, and sometimes they seem outrageous.
Most strange laws that still exist aren’t enforced, but you still never know. You’d be shocked what could land you in jail!
Here are some strange Louisiana laws still in existence today:
– You may not tie an alligator to a fire hydrant
– City commission members who drink during a public meeting risk a $50 fine
– Urinating in the water supply could land you in prison for up to 20 years
– Mardi gras beads may not be thrown from a third story window
– Snakes are not allowed within 200 feet of the Mardi Gras parade route
– Mourners at a wake may not eat more than three sandwiches
Which of these wacky laws surprised you the most?
